Building Black Wealth Tour
The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) has launched its initial Building Black Wealth Tour with events in more than 100 cities nationwide. The events, which include festive activities for youths, empower Black communities with steps towards homeownership, property investment, starting a business, and other wealth-building opportunities.
NAREB partners for the Building Black Wealth tour include the Church of God In Christ, the African American Mayors Association, the National Bar Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Major sponsors include Wells Fargo and Fannie Mae. The HUD-approved NID Housing Counseling Agency provided free credit reports at the events.
Each event will have featured workshops catered to preparing the more than two million mortgage-ready Black Americans. These families and individuals have the credit and income to qualify for a home mortgage but have not started their journey to home ownership. Embark on your wealth-building journey at our upcoming events, featuring specialized workshops like "ABC's of Home Buying" and "What to do with Big Mama's House?"

NAREB Developers Academy
NAREB Developers Academy is a is a transformative initiative to address the pressing need for increased diversity and representation in the real estate development industry. Through a rigorous curriculum, strategic partnerships, and a community-focused approach, the NAREB Developers Academy will create a sustainable pipeline of Black real estate developers poised to make a lasting impact.
The program offers a full scope of coursework covering all essential aspects of real estate development. The initially focus will be on locations with a critical mass of NAREB members and interests. By targeting areas with a shortage of black developers, the academy aims to address the specific needs of communities that lack representation.
Over the course of the program, participants will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the industry. Upon completion, participants can obtain credentials or certifications that will enhance their profiles as developers.
The first cohort graduated at the NAREB National Conference in New Orleans. Future plans include additional cohorts as well as a train the trainer program to expand the Developers Academy to reach over 200 Realists by the end of 2025.
